Result of Service
Preparation of a Conservation Strategy for the Madeira pipistrelle that considers the habitat preferences identified in the study as well as the location of all roosts and foraging sites discovered in the study.

Duties and Responsibilities
The qualified bat expert should implement following activities: 1. Radio-track 20 Madeira pipistrelle bats in their habitats on Madeira island (Portugal) during summer 2024. 2. Roosts of tracked bats should be found and described, as well as their important feeding areas and commuting routes. 3. Recommendations for protection of roosts and critical habitats should be developed and submitted to the Secretariat and national authorities as a contribution to the preparation of the species’ Conservation plan.
Qualifications/special skills
Do you have experince in radio-tracking bats? Do you have a permission for capturing, handling and radio-tracking of bats in Madeira? A license for handling bats valid for Madeira is required
Languages
English and Portuguese are required for implementation of the activities
