JOB DESCRIPTION

Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Supply Chain Management Service Pillar of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO), with duty station, Goma. The Logistics Officer reports to the Chief Centralized Warehouse Section to whom he/she will effectively and efficiently manage all operational matters related to Warehousing operations.
Responsibilities
Within delegated authority, the Logistics Officer will carry out the following duties: • Develops, implements, and monitors warehouse operations, stock control system, inbound and outbound delivery monitoring, receiving & inspection, transfer orders, and putting away promptly to meet the corporate KPIs. • Monitors UMOJA Inventory data quality through the analysis of UMOJA System Reports and takes corrective action as required. • Initiates actions leading to accurate inventory in line with the mission draw down plan. • Undertakes market research, develop Scope of Works/Requirements in contract development for goods and services to United Nation’s (UN) requirements. • Reviews mission requirements for materials in conjunction with Technical Units and, initiates actions to fulfil these requests. • Recommends plans for redeployment or disposal of warehouse stocks when Missions are liquidated. • Analyzes problems, audit and performance reports on mission activities and provides remedial action programmes where required. • Maintains accurate records and control of all equipment and materials received, stored, and disposed of by the mission in an Environmentally friendly manner. • In liaison with Movement Control Section, ensures cargo delivered by vendors are received promptly for inspection by Technical Sections and Warehouse representatives, and that stock Put-Away is performed as soon as Goods Receipt posting is executed in UMOJA. • Provides guidance on Warehousing best practices particularly in Health & Safety standards and contributes to development and efficiency of supervised staff. • Performs other duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Job – Specific Qualification
UMOJA & IPSAS Technical certificate, or other courses and training programs relating to the work is desirable
Work Experience
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience, including at least three years at the international level in logistics, supply chain management, procurement, or other related areas, in complex, volatile, conflict or post-conflict settings is required. A minimum of five years of supervisory experience in logistic management functions in a large international organization or UN field mission is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
Assessment
