JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is in the USAID/Senegal Sahel Regional Office (SRO). The incumbent supports country offices in Burkina Faso, Chad, Mauritania, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Cabo Verde and implementing partners to strengthen collaboration, learning, and adapting. The position is critical to assessing impact and sustainability of USAID-supported contributions to the Sahel’s development. The position supports USAID’s commitment to “manage for results” and to meet the requirements of the SRO aims for transformational development to increase the resilience of chronically vulnerable people, households, communities, and systems in targeted agro-pastoral and marginal agriculture livelihood zones, and to prevent the spread of violent extremism in the Sahel. SRO interventions strive for increased resilience, sustainable well-being, strengthened institutions and governance, and improved nutrition and health. The incumbent will take an active, results-oriented role in Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA), under broader Knowledge Management (KM), for SRO programming.

The incumbent will advise the Deputy Regional Mission Director, Regional Program Office Director, Regional Technical Office team members, Regional Program Office team members and USAID staff located in Burkina Faso, Chad, The Gambia, and Mauritania on CLA, under KM objectives. The incumbent will build, reinforce, and enhance a robust and centralized KM system that includes, but is not limited to, organizing and curating tools and resources related to Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and CLA, establishing processes and online tools to share lessons learned, evaluation results, and best practices across West Africa, and strengthening the team’s capacity to make data-driven management decisions.

The CLA Advisor will report to the MEL Specialist FSN 11 (MEL Team Lead) under the general supervision of the Deputy Program Office Director.
