Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join our Compliance team as an Associate, Compliance. This role is pivotal in conducting compliance assessments and reviews, ensuring that the EBRD meets its obligations under the Environmental and Social Policy (ESP) and the Access to Information Policy (AIP).

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance assessments and reviews, including comprehensive desk reviews, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with technical experts.
  • Research and analyze project documentation to support decision-making within the compliance function.
  • Draft high-standard Compliance Assessment Reports and Compliance Review Reports, ensuring objectivity and factual accuracy.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including project-affected people, civil society organizations, and international development organizations.
  • Assist in outreach activities, preparing materials, and participating in relevant meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of internal operational guidelines and investigative methodologies.

Qualifications

  • A degree in a related field (e.g., international development, environment, social sciences, human rights, law) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of International Development Bank Environmental and Social Safeguards and working knowledge of UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.
  • Excellent English writing skills; fluency in Russian and/or Arabic is desirable.
  • Strong information gathering and compliance analysis skills.
  • Experience with social and environmental accountability mechanisms is highly desirable.
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel regularly and work outside regular business hours.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse team.
