General Qualifications
  •  Master’s degree, in engineering, logistics management and/or business management, or equivalent experience.
  •  Adequate knowledge of the weapon systems supported by the Program Office.
  • Extensive experience in logistic support of major weapon systems including budgetary aspects at senior management level.
  • Ability to analyse complex systems and large amounts of data, to synthesize and present conclusions and recommendations in a precise, concise and convincing manner.
  • Experience in the Configuration Management (CM) aspects of a major end item or a complete weapon system.
  • Ability to chair or actively participate in international logistics meetings.
  • Ability to facilitate/present persuasively to gain buy-in and effective negotiations skills to achieve desired outcomes including business growth.
  • Ability to multi-task, manage time and work effectively under pressure while producing high-quality products under short-notice deadlines.
  • Ability to develop resourceful and effective solutions to complex problems, ability to set performance goals and expectations, to develop policy and metrics, to measure performance and to engage problems early to mitigate risk and redirect performance.
  • Knowledge of information systems at end-user level with experience in using personal computers and software packages.
Specific Qualifications
  • Understanding of the US Army, United States Air Force, (USAF) and US Navy (USN) logistics systems, organisation and the associated command and staff procedures.
  • Understanding roles of major US Military organisations in the development of systems and follow-on support responsibilities throughout their life cycle.
  • Understanding of the USAF and USN Logistics and Security Assistance Programmes.
  • Good understanding of the general principles and operation of the Air Force’s and Navy’s and NATO’s International Cooperative Logistics Programmes.
  • Detailed understanding of the working processes of the Agency and especially of Programme Office.
  • Good understanding of the Agency’s role within NATO.
  • Previous experience as a logistics representative or technical liaison officer to a major defense contractor, major military headquarters or international organisation.
  • Proficiency in technical writing at staff or management level.
LANGUAGE QUALIFICATIONS
NATO’s two official languages are English and French. However the work of this post is conducted in English and therefore fluency in that language is essential

POST DETAILS

  • Basic monthly salary: USD  11 644,34 132.41, tax free.
