BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The WFP Technology Division (TEC) is the nervous system of WFP, connecting staff with each other and with our beneficiaries, donors and partners. Running all vital IT systems, TEC serves as the main driver for continuity of operations, efficiency gains and innovations that empower staff globally to effectively implement the Strategic Plan. Within TEC, the Business Relationship Management (BRM) team plays a key role in the digital transformation of WFP by partnering with all parts of the organization in order to identify gaps, set priorities, improve user experience, and scale up digital approaches that enhance business efficiency and operational impact.
As part of WFP’s objective to transform key business areas digitally and continue the focus on data for decision making, the Senior Business Engagement Manager (BEM) – Operations Department Portfolio will primarily manage the Technology team’s relationship with the Supply Chain and Emergency divisions under Operations department and associated functions, shaping their demand for technology to create a more efficient and effective organization. This portfolio is particularly important now, as WFP deals with the topic of Assurance at corporate level, and the Supply Chain Division initiates key projects and activities to address such gaps and reform the day WFP deals with food. The Senior BEM will build a deep understanding of these business areas, building trust through relationships with both operational and executive-level contacts to ensure that essential projects are prioritized and scheduled.
