Purpose of Job

Works under supervision and guidance of the Principal, People Solutions & Advisory, and together with other team members, to provide operationally excellent HR advisory services across the Bank to line managers and staff. Indicates to the relevant HROD team where people solutions are required through the relevant internal mechanisms, whilst optimising technology and data to provide insights.

  • Provides tailored advice and guidance to staff and managers in order to support and influence the business in the implementation of HR policies and procedures, escalates issues within the team and HROD as appropriate.
  • Close cooperation and seeks expert advice from HR centres of expertise including Reward & Benefits, Talent Development and Acquisition, Employee Relations and HR Operations.
  • Provides assistance and problem solving related to more complex referred queries from line managers and staff at all levels, liaising with HR centres of expertise as necessary.
  • Facilitates sensitive employee relations issues. Plays a key role in keeping a good employee relations environment and a high level of staff engagement and trust.
  • Prepares, analyses and interprets various HR metrics and KPIs and providing feedback.
  • Supports and contributes to staff health and other employee relations activities and processes, including compiling scripts, presentations, coordinating meetings with employees / line managers, ensuring required paperwork is submitted, tracking the progress of referrals or actions, recording outcomes against timetables, answering staff queries and holding staff clinics, liaising between Managers and the relevant HRBP liaising with other HROD teams
  • Works collaboratively with ER, People Solutions & Advisory, HR Business Partnering, HR Operations, COEs in order to ensure the provision of a high quality service.
  • Actively collaborates with HR centres of expertise to implement HR initiatives.
  • Record-keeping to underpin sound administration of Bank personnel: Documenting and filing an accurate audit trail to clarify policy decisions and/or to document rationale for policy variations in the realms of reward and employee lifecycle events. Ensuring adequate details are kept and filed correctly so that any future recollection of a decision is fully captured and easily retrievable. Documenting and accurately filing contemporaneous notes of manager/employee meetings about pertinent HR matters (includes using template chronology document).
  • Enabling the successful execution of the distinct HR projects through proactive implementation and delivery of defined project stages.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Professional HR Adviser experience.
  • Graduate (minimum degree) in relevant discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
  • CIPD or equivalent (either completed or studying towards). Desirable.
  • Demonstrable clear understanding of all HR elements of the employee life cycle and policies.
  • Demonstrable proactive approach, results focused with the ability to display good judgement during in a demanding client facing role.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organisational and administrative skills, the ability to prioritise and multitask is essential.
  • Strong partnership and client orientation skills to enable positive engagement with stakeholders throughout the Bank.
  • Analytical skills to deliver insight on qualitative and quantitative organisational data to drive decision making.
  • Experience in the use and application of technology, data analytics experience and the ability to generate insight through systems and tools. Previous use of case management tools desirable.
  • Skills in facilitation. Ability to communicate and influence diplomatically and effectively at all levels.
  • Change management experience, displaying confidence in guiding both managers and staff.
  • Fluency in English both written and oral. Knowledge of another language is a plus.
  • Experience of working in a multi-national environment with a dispersed workforce.
