icddr,b, in collaboration with the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), will implement a formative research project titled “Improving Coverage Measurement of Large-Scale Food Fortification and Nutrition-Sensitive Social Protection Programs” in both Bangladesh and Ethiopia. In Bangladesh, the study will be conducted in different Upazilas of Dhaka and Sylhet districts under the leadership of the National Nutrition Services – Institute of Public Health Nutrition (NNS-IPHN).

Position Description:

The Research Assistant will report to the Principal Investigator and co – Principal Investigator. The position holder will be responsible for collecting qualitative and quantitative data, collecting monitoring data, transcription, summary of the interview, data management, and data analysis under “Improving Coverage Measurement of Large-Scale Food Fortification and Nutrition-Sensitive Social Protection Programs” project. S/he will be involved in –

• Collect qualitative data using methods such as in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, key informant interviews, or any other applicable methods
• Collect quantitative data and monitoring data
• Transcribe the collected qualitative data
• Share initial findings with supervisor and seek inputs from the summary interview
• Conduct coding of the transcribed data by using ATLAS.ti
• Conduct literature review when needed

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor degree from renounded University in relevant discipline (Preferable subjects are Anthropology/Public Health/Sociology) with good academic records
• 1 year experience in data collection, data analysis (qualitative data analysis by using ATLAS.ti and quantitative data analysis by Statistical software), and interpretation
• Candidates who have fluency in local language of Sylhet will get preference.
• Proficiency in English & Bengali typing is mandatory

Contract Type and Duration:

• Daily wage basis for 2 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk. 1,399 per day inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances.
