Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership to child protection coordination, engaging key stakeholders at national and sub-national levels.
  • Collaborate with OCHA, the Protection Cluster led by UNHCR, and child protection actors to coordinate inter-agency needs assessments to map out priority child protection issues.
  • Build capacity for CP cluster partners at the national and sub-national levels and ensure a standardized response.
  • Strategically plan to address child protection needs and ensure the centrality of protection with other clusters.
  • Advocate for child protection in humanitarian initiatives across fora and in funding opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree, or equivalent experience, in social work or child psychology, international law, or other relevant field.
  • A minimum of 8 years experience in either the UN and/or NGO, in program and cluster coordination, especially in emergency settings, and with a relevant protection background.
  • Fluency in English and Knowledge in Arabic is desirable
