Programme/portfolio title: Climate, Environment and Resilience Duration: August 2024-August 2026 (max 320 days) Duty station: Yerevan, Armenia. Description of the Assignment: The UNDP Armenia Climate, Environment and Resilience (CER) Portfolio includes a dedicated Climate Change Programme that helps Armenia build its ability to develop effective low-carbon policies and strengthen resilience to climate change impacts. Currently there are several projects in the Programme under implementation: (i) “Strengthened Community Resilience through Energy Efficiency and Low Emission Development” UNDP-Sida: (ii) “Climate Promise Armenia – From Pledge to Impact” UNDP-BMZ-BMU; (iii) “Development of the First Biennial Transparency Report and the combined Fifth National Communication and Second Biennial Transparency Report of Armenia to the UNFCCC” UNDP-GEF; (iv) “De-risking and Scaling-up Investment in Energy Efficient Building Retrofits” UNDP-GCF; (v) “Development of technical guides on risk assessment for elaboration of management approaches for responding to loss and damage” PAF and other emerging climate change related initiatives under the UNDP CER Portfolio. UNDP Armenia seeks to hire a qualified Climate Change Programme Senior Consultant under a Framework Agreement. This consultant will support the aforementioned and upcoming Climate Change projects on an as-needed basis, providing knowledge-driven strategic policy advice and guidance on climate change mitigation, adaptation, capacity building and reporting when required.
