Global Call

 

The International Potato Center (CIP) is pleased to announce a global call for applications for its Research Fellowship Program. This program aims to support innovative research in the fields of potato and sweetpotato science, agricultural development, and food security. The selected candidate will provide high-level scientific support to CIP’s Science Directors in areas of research, analytics, knowledge management, and publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct desk-based research on topics assigned by the assigned leader, including reviewing the latest publications and evidence in areas such as agriculture, food, nutrition, poverty, climate change, and the environment.
  • Source and perform basic analysis of (mainly) secondary data and produce infographics.
  • Draft technical briefs, reports, sections of publications, and presentations for use by CIP’s Scientists and Directors. This may involve gathering input from internal teams and external partners.
  • Compile technical institutional reports by sourcing and integrating inputs from various internal science and regional teams.
  • Build and maintain excellent and trusted communication channels within the organization and with external partners to ensure timely and equitable sharing of information.
  • Support the Science Directors’ external communications and technical correspondence as assigned.

 

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant science discipline.
  • Sound technical understanding of global development trends and entry points for CIP’s science and innovation.
  • Excellent skills in scientific and technical literature reviews and data sourcing.
  • Strong analytical skills in quantitative and qualitive data.
  • Excellent technical English writing skills.
  • Strong time-management skills and an ability to work at a fast pace and coordinate multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills across a multi-national and multi-cultural work environment.
