Junior Professional Associates – Program Description

The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. ITS Vice Presidency – Financial Engineering (ITSFE)

The Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) Vice Presidential Unit (VPU) enables the World Bank Group to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150+ locations. ITS Financial Engineering (ITSFE) unit provides systems and systems and technology support to mission critical and core financial applications of the WBG, such as SAP, which enables a unified client experience in the areas of Budget Planning & Financial Reporting, while standardizing and streamlining core business functions. It also provides IT solutions to support WBG IDA strategic resource mobilization operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Development Finance (FD) team within ITSFE is responsible for supporting and implementing financial systems for the IDA business lines (including MDRI) for clients across the Development Finance Vice-Presidency ‘IDA Mobilization and IBRD Corporate Finance’ Department.

• Support and maintain the IDA Portal platform Dashboards, Reports and Transactions as well as IDA Web external pages for Replenishment Negotiations.

• Gather, elicit, and validate business requirements and the preparation of business requirements documents in concise yet comprehensive manner translating business language into appropriate technical terminologies.

• Prepare and support both SIT and UAT processes with proper evidence documentation as well as collaborating to the automation of test processes.

• Support senior staff in the preparation of IT capital investment fund requests through an agile approach and sustaining the importance (value addition) of such investments.

• Support senior Project Managers on the preparation, documentation, and dissemination of Project Management documentation including planning, presentations, monitoring and tracking, and following up with stakeholders.

• Under the guidance of senior ITS staff, partners with business leaders to identify cross-functional opportunities that integrate organizational and technological strategies and integrate client’s specific operational requirements as they relate to the organizational strategy. Provides recommendations and agrees plans that align medium-term needs with strategic goals/objectives.

• Act as a liaison between sponsors, business users, team leads, subject matter experts, project & development teams, and on-premises and offshore vendor resources. Leads meetings with stakeholders to gain in-depth understanding of business needs, spells out business and systems capabilities, and communicate to vendors as appropriate.

• Knowledge in Azure data platform and its services; implement management reporting solutions for business data and analytics.

• Understands the organizational mission, values, operations and goals and ITS policies and procedures and serves as a resource to other professionals. • Ensures team is compliant and in alignment of the same.

• Drive transformational business performance, productivity, and cost efficiency through world class IT sourcing and vendor management practices to delivering world-class IT

• Contributes new insights to understand situations and develops solutions to resolve complex problems. Adapts as circumstances require and manages impact of own behavior on others in context of WBG’s values and mission. Identifies and pursues innovative approaches to resolve issues.

• Generates reports from analysis, gathers and links data. Reviews for non-conformity and gathers further information in response to problems. Identifies direct cause-and-effect relationships. Identifies trends and exceptions. Investigates to define problems more accurately. Identifies relationships and linkages between components. Identifies variable potential causes and effects. Solicits guidance to define criteria and assign values of importance and urgency. Escalates issues of both a routine and exceptional nature.

• Ability to utilize Business Intelligence tools (Power BI) to represent insights.

• Hands on with the Agile development process and ability to prepare project plans, communicate the plan to stakeholders, and break the work down to trackable tasks.

• In line with the institutional strategy, adoption of the cloud first strategy in the solution design and to assist the teams in coming up with the best approach for Cloud migrations, including architecture evaluation, setting up orchestration for application deployments.

• As a data domain expert, monitor compliance to Enterprise Data Quality, conform and support data governance initiatives, methodologies, standard operation procedures (SOPs), style guides and presentation material supporting standardization and quality of data across the institution.

• Ensuring the various applications adhere to established standards, and organization-wide policies and procedures to monitor compliance, review areas of risk and investigate identifies issues, recommend appropriate steps to correct violations and manage tactical and strategic remediation efforts.

The JPA will report to the ITSFE team lead and will work closely with DFCII clients and ITS partners primarily focusing on the modern Cloud based solutions for IDA Mobilization and IBRD/IDA Corporate Finance (DFCII) unit in support of their IT needs, application landscape expansion, cross supporting enterprise initiatives having an impact on IDA’s core business processes and playing a significant role in the delivery of large capital projects, ongoing maintenance services, and implementing its overall solutions strategy.

• Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, or related fields with minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.

• Knowledge of or participation in the development and implementation of business-driven solutions using different technical solutions.

• Project implementation experience using agile methodologies.

• Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies, and processing environments.

• Good understanding of the technology landscape, design, development, and implementation of applications with Web technologies & Cloud including AWS, Azure, SharePoint online, Power BI, Angular, .Net etc. Will be a plus

• Participate in the entire software development life cycle for various enterprise systems.

OTHER qualifications that will be a plus

• Good understanding of Azure cloud services for application development and data management.

• Contributes subject matter expertise and demonstrate the business domain skills for other professionals in their field.

• Knowledge and exposure of AI solutions implementation life cycle, including SME training and validation practices and processes.

• Data analysis and rationalization.
