JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

UNICEF was created with a distinct purpose in mind: to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child’s path. We advocate for measures to give children the best start in life, because proper care at the youngest age forms the strongest foundation for a person’s future

JOB SUMMARY

A key accountability of the Regional Office is the review and quality assurance of program documents like the Country Programme Documents (CPDs). Country programmes articulate UNICEF’s strategic contribution to national efforts towards the realization of child rights and the achievement of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. They align to national development priorities, respond to the national context, and build on a risk informed analysis of the situation of all children, adolescents, and women, as well as on achievements, lessons learned from previous cooperation, and opportunities for equitable development. This should follow UNICEF Guidelines for country offices for drafting country programme documents and UNICEF Country Programme Planning guidance.

In addition, every year the Regional Office is required to submit the ROAR (Regional Office Annual Report) as follows:

  • A 6-10-page Summary Narrative based on analysis of Outcome/Output end-of-year updates on key aspects of annual results and management performance.

UNICEF Middle East and North Africa Regional Office (MENARO) is seeking the services of committed professional English writer and editor to create, review and edit Country Program Documents (CPDs), the 2024 Regional Office Annual Report (ROAR) narrative, Outcome and Output statements, the new Regional Office management Plan and other key programme documents with a focus on improving overall structure, clarity and style that conforms to the UNICEF Style Book.
