JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE COMPANY:

The services delivered by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH draw on a wealth of regional and technical expertise and tried and tested management know-how. As a federal enterprise, we support the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. We are also engaged in international education work around the globe.

JOB SUMMARY

As an integral internal service provider within GIZ, the Data Service Center (DSC) offers comprehensive data services and advice to international cooperation projects. Our services encompass support in data collection, management, and analysis for various purposes, including impact monitoring, project planning, geospatial analysis, and data sharing. By delivering these services, the DSC significantly contributes to GIZ’s overarching goal of fostering data-based decision-making solutions and capacities for projects and partner institutions worldwide.

The DSC has recently implemented substantial internal changes to update its workflow and knowledge management structures. A critical aspect of this transformation is defining a role-based concept with specific mandates for areas such as service delivery, procurement, partnerships, and people operations. Complementing this, the team utilizes an agile approach for quarterly resource planning and strategic alignment. To support this change process, the DSC is seeking a motivated working student to assist in implementing structural changes in the DSC’s workflow and knowledge management and to support the newly defined DSC roles in various implementation tasks.
