Since the opening of the Jerusalem Office in 2006, UNOPS has significantly strengthened its operations in Palestine. Our expert knowledge, skills and management systems contribute to the sustainable development of public infrastructure in Gaza and the West Bank, including Area C and East Jerusalem.
The GIS Analyst is a member of the OQ Program Team and performs a cross-cutting function serving all program sectors. The GIS Analyst reports to Director – Energy.
The GIS Analyst will be working closely with the members of all sector teams. S/he will be engaging with the relevant stakeholders under the guidance of the Sector Directors. While delivering the ToR, the GIS Analyst is expected to develop GIS Mapping, Data Analytics, GIS based communication and GIS knowledge / capacity / skills of OQ. S/he is expected to enhance inter-sector program collaboration through leveraging & building on existing GIS knowledge. Hence, the GIS Analyst is an integral part of implementing the OQ Strategy.
The GIS Analyst will contribute towards the strategy and work of the OQ within the below scope:

The GIS Analyst is responsible for the deliverables below, following the objective of the assignment and
the scope of work. The activities will be carried out in close partnership with the program teams,
notably energy, water and telecom, also with support to rule of law and economic development.
Develop and maintain GIS models, tools and applications:
Analyze geographic data to produce maps and datasheets
Contribute to communication and outreach
Contribute to knowledge management and capacity building
Education:
Bachelor’s degree is required with a preference for a degree in information
management and GIS certification. Other fields (e.g. engineering, economics,
statistics, international relations, etc.) will be considered based on work experience.
Master’s degree preferred.

Contract type: Full time | National and International Individual Contractor Agreement
Contract level: ICS 8 (for Nationals LICA 8, for international IICA 1)
Contract duration: 4 months with the intention for extension.
