Global Corporate Solutions

Reporting to the Managing Director and World Bank Group Chief Administrative Officer, Global Corporate Solutions (GCS) brings together the functions of Corporate Security, Corporate Real Estate, and Corporate Services. 

About the Unit

The Corporate Services (GCSCS) division within GCS provides services to the WBG in the areas of Travel and Visa Services; Food and Conference Services; Staff Services, including Commuter Services, Child Care, and Fitness Center; Mail and Shipping Services; the Art Program; Translation and Interpretation; Customer Service; Design and Publications; Printing; and Interactive Media.

GCSCS also provides administrative oversight to the WBG Family Network and 1818 Society and is responsible for setting the policy framework and service standards, and for delivering services through a combination of staff and vendors at WBG headquarters (HQ) in Washington, DC and in Country Offices.  GCSCS has about 130 staff and about 500 contractors.

To achieve its purpose, GCSCS is structured into two main units: (i) Travel and Client Services (GCSTC), and (ii) Business Services (GCSBA).

GCSCS also has the GCS Service Desk and Processing & Analytics team in Chennai, India.

The Program Officer plays a pivotal role, focusing on technical expertise in data analysis and reporting. This position is responsible for strategically managing program transitions from headquarters to the Chennai office, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and, effective collaboration across various departments is crucial for managing work programs and addressing operational challenges.

The Program Officer will collaborate directly with Managers and Program Managers in GCS.

This position requires work on the night shift (4 pm to 12:30 am IST).

Duties and Accountabilities:

•Develops and implements a data and reporting strategy using industry best practices, tools, and frameworks to deliver information consistently and efficiently to clients.

•Utilizes advanced Excel and Power BI skills to generate detailed, actionable reports and dashboards, providing deep insights into key performance indicators (KPIs).

•Offers technical guidance and mentorship to team members, ensuring deliverables meet WBG standards and facilitating integration between the Chennai team and headquarters.

•Manages the transition of work programs from headquarters to Chennai, handling vendor contracts and aligning with strategic organizational goals.

•Collaborates with departments like accounting, procurement, HR, and IT to manage work programs effectively and tackle operational challenges.

•Produces high-quality reports for clients to aid in their decision-making processes.

•Identifies and rectifies discrepancies in quality assurance reports, escalating critical issues to program managers and HQ team leads for resolution.

•Upholds fiduciary responsibility by ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.

•Enhances processes, procedures, documentation, and internal controls to boost efficiency and accuracy in Transactions management.

•Leads and supports the implementation of institutional projects and GCS initiatives.

•Drives process improvements within the SAP framework to reinforce internal controls and operational efficiency.

•Ensures the integrity and consistency of financial transactions, including the management of chargeback mechanisms.

•Supports the Team Lead in overseeing work programs and operational activities, maintaining compliance with internal controls.

•Analyzes exception reports to resolve transaction irregularities swiftly and effectively, upholding the highest standards of financial accuracy.

•Proactively engages with clients, providing them with timely reports, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring quality issues are addressed.

Selection Criteria

•Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (i.e., Business Management; Accounting; Economics, etc.) and at least 5+ years of professional experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

•Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis and reporting, with advanced Excel and Power BI skills.

•Proven experience in managing transitions of work programs, including vendor contract oversight.

•Strong leadership qualities with a track record of mentoring teams and integrating operations across locations.

•Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple departments to manage work programs and resolve operational challenges.

•Commitment to maintaining financial integrity and enhancing internal controls within the SAP framework.

•Excellent client engagement skills, with a focus on delivering high-quality, timely reports and addressing service quality issues.
