• Review various risk related materials issued by ORM to ensure consistency of contents and style with ADB’s internal guidelines.
• Collaborate with other ORM teams as well as with other offices and departments of ADB to obtain adequate information from domain owners.
• Maintain working relationships with relevant teams within ORM and with relevant counterparties in other departments to be aware of emerging risk trends and hot topics.
• Monitor the news and information provided by specialized vendors to stay updated about the events that can cause changes in ADB’s risk profile.
• Provide insights about the emerging trends affecting the ADB’s risk profile.
• Understand ADB’s internal risk policies and procedures and be able to communicate those in the level of technical sophistication appropriate for the audience.
• Review ORM inputs to incoming reports from both internal and external parties including ADB’s financial statements and Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A).
• Assist International Staff to prepare ad-hoc research and presentations on ADB’s risk profile to the Board, senior management, rating agencies, and other external stakeholders.

Knowledge Sharing
• Support preparation of internal ORM training materials to facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Maintain knowledge of emerging best practices, new peer approaches, Basel standards and other international standards in operational risk management, risk reporting and risk governance.

• Perform other duties that may be assigned as reflected in the incumbent’s work plan.
Qualifications
You will need:
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, or related field; a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or MBA qualification would be advantageous.
• At least 8 years of experience in major commercial banks, consulting firms, or central bank prior to joining ADB; preferably in the areas of risk management.
• Familiarity with recent developments in risk management in large international banks and multilateral development banks.
• Critical thinking in projecting the impact of various risk trends on ADB’s risk profile. Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to apply context and technical understanding of the relevant risk topic and data to express the information in a way that is concise and easy to understand.
• Strong working knowledge of PowerPoint and Excel, as well as the ability to prepare effective presentations.
Sound knowledge of common word-processing and Bloomberg. Knowledge of Canva and PowerBI is an advantage.
• Ablility to undertake analytical work on difficult but well-defined tasks, collect and organize data and information, and prepare notes, papers, presentations, and reports.
• Effective reporting-writing and communication skills in English.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines.
