Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Senior Finance and Budget Assistant, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Support the operationalization of the Funding Intelligence Portal as the new tool for re-source mobilisation, including migration of data from the current platforms (Power BI, etc.)
• Monitor and analyse the compliance and financial implementation of the corporate-level funding agreements, including updating tracking sheets with the latest information on funding, allocations, expenditures, utilization rates against approved budgets, and providing inputs to reporting on the agreements.
• Handle financial transactions related to Member States’s contributions including invoicing, cash application, and issuing of receipts. Update and maintain database for tracking and future reference.
• Prepare funding profiles on the Member States.
• Support the financial analysis of the organisation’s income including core funding (Environment Fund), other flexible funding, and earmarked funding to form basis for reporting on income status.
• Maintain up-to-date financial information for the unit’s intranet website and UNEP’s web-site.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
• Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
• Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publica-tions/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
• Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
• Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
Results/Expected Outputs
• Unit has up-to-date and accurate information on the status of the corporate level funding agreements and is able to take timely action to ensure compliance and satisfaction of the funding partners.
• Accurate and timely handling of financial transactions.
• Positively supports the services provided to Member States and increases their trust in the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation.
• Accurate and relevant financial analysis and information.
• Supports the unit’s ability to provide timely and useful income reports and information to the organisation’s management and Member States.
• The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counter-parts, including Implementing Partners (IPs);
• Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment
• A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities partici-pated in and capacities developed

Age
18 – 80

Nationality
Candidate must be a national or legal resident of the country of assignment.

Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in in financial analysis and reporting, data analysis, data visualisation and storytelling, use of data analytics tools like PowerBI, Machine Learning is desirable.

Required education level
Bachelor degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent.
