Task description
Under the direct supervision of Head of Public Sector Partnerships and resource Mobilization, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
• Coordinate preparation, conduct, and reporting of bilateral consultations and meetings with Member States/groups of Member States, including supporting agenda development, preparation of background documents and briefing notes, coordinating participation, reporting, and monitoring of follow-up action.
• Prepare analysis of major Member State funding partners including their priorities related to UNEP and opportunities for funding in support of outreach to individual Member States.
• Support the development, launch, and functioning of the network of interested Member States, that will discuss challenges, find solutions and take action to increase UNEP’s funding.
• Track the engagement of senior management with Member States individually and through the governing bodies and ensure that the unit provides timely inputs to briefing notes, speeches, etc. for the Executive Office and other Directors as needed.
• Support the unit’s collaboration with the regional offices including assisting the regional focal points in the preparation of regional meetings.
• Support with preparation of responses to major funding partners’ queries on their contributions to the Environment Fund.

Furthermore, UN Volunteers are required to:
• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
• Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
• Reflect on the type and quality of voluntary action that they are undertaking, including participation in ongoing reflection activities;
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publica-tions/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
• Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
• Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
Results/Expected Outputs
• Bilateral consultations and meetings with the Member States and UNEP’s governing bodies are supported with relevant and timely inputs to the satisfaction of the Senior Management and Member States.
• Outreach to individual members states is supported by accurate and relevant information on the funding partners, their priorities, and opportunities.
• Unit’s collaboration with the regional offices is strengthened.
• The development of capacity through coaching, mentoring, and formal on-the-job training, when working with (including supervising) national staff or (non-) governmental counterparts, including Implementing Partners (IPs);
• Age, Gender, and Diversity (AGD) perspective is systematically applied, integrated and documented in all activities throughout the assignment
• A final statement of achievements towards volunteerism for peace and development during the assignment, such as reporting on the number of volunteers mobilized, activities participated in, and capacities developed

Requirements
Required experience
3 years of experience in public relations, client relations management, meeting and event organisation, and reporting are an advantage.
