JOB DETAIL

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in conducting field assessments to identify the food security and livelihood needs of target communities.
  2. Help in identifying and selecting eligible beneficiaries for LFS interventions based on established criteria.
  3. Participate in community mobilization efforts to raise awareness of LFS programs and encourage community participation.
  4. Assist in providing training and support to beneficiaries on improved agricultural practices, business skills, and other livelihood activities.
  5. Support the day-to-day implementation of LFS activities, ensuring adherence to NRC’s guidelines and standards.
  6. Assist in monitoring and evaluating LFS project activities, collecting data on progress and outcomes, and contributing to regular reports.
  7. Coordinate with logistics to ensure the timely distribution of inputs and materials to project sites.
  8. Work closely with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to facilitate the smooth implementation of LFS activities.
  9. Support the implementation of cash-based interventions and market-based programming under the guidance of the LFS Officer.
  10. Participate in emergency response activities related to food security and livelihoods, including needs assessments, distributions, and post-distribution monitoring (PDM).
  11. Maintain accurate records of project activities, including beneficiary lists, distribution records, and training attendance.

 

Skills & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Economics, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or a related field.
  • At least one year of experience in implementing food security and livelihoods projects in a humanitarian or development context.
  • Basic understanding of cash-based interventions and market-based programming is an advantage.
  • Experience working in complex and volatile environments is desirable.

 

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
