JOB DESCRIPTION

SCOPE OF WORK:

The Intake Specialist is a full-time position that will support IRC’s Home Study and Post Release Services (HSPRS) for Unaccompanied Children (UC). The role will focus primarily on intakes and data entry to ensure IRC is complying and on target with the number of cases per the funder’s contract.

 

This position is part of an anticipated 36-month contract.

The IRC’s Home Study and Post-Release Services (HSPRS) for unaccompanied children in the U.S. is growing from six current IRC offices to more than 17 offices throughout the US. This is a national, multi-million-dollar project with ambitious delivery goals in a short time frame.

The goals of the Home-Study Post Release Services Program (HS/PRS) are to:

  • Assess the safety and suitability of a sponsor before an unaccompanied child is released from custody into a sponsor’s care (Home Study)
  • Provide case management support via remote and / or conducting in-home visits to ensure the continued safety and stability of children in sponsor’s homes and linking children to resources in the community (Post Release Services).

 

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Complete all duties assigned that relate to the acceptance of the referral within the UC portal system.
  • Evaluate the Post Release Services case referral as Level 1 or Level 2 based on the parameters set by the program, which may include screening for victimization, such as domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking.
  • Coordinate with Regional Coordinators, Supervisors and Case Managers to ascertain capacity for Level 1 and Level 2 cases prior to intake and case acceptance.
  • Collect intake level data from the UC Portal necessary for data entry into IRC’s ETO database.
  • Perform moderate to high volume of data entry in IRC’s ETO database.

  • Notify relevant parties of case acceptances, including Case Mangers, Supervisors, Regional Coordinators, and UC shelters.
  • Generate a weekly capacity report to ensure the program is on target to meet its case acceptance goal set by the funder.
  • Work with the Assistant Director to address deficiencies found regarding the intake process and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Assist in development and facilitation of in-service training related to the intake process and levels of Post Release Services.
  • Facilitate transfer cases internally at IRC and to other PRS providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

Education: High School diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field of study preferred.

Work Experience:

  • Relevant professional experience in human services with a minimum of 2 years of experience is strongly preferred.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
  • Must be cleared and approved by Office of Refugee Resettlement and background check including FBI fingerprints and Child Abuse and Neglect checks required upon hire (initiated by IRC after acceptance of the position).
