As the Research Manager you will lead, deliver and support high quality research on Plan International’s focus areas, in collaboration with research team members, MER Specialists from the 75+ Programme Countries, as well as external consultants. You will have mixed methods research experience with proven capabilities in quantitative research design and analysis.

Working with the Director of MERL, to uphold the MERL Policy and Standards, as well as lead and deliver a research and evaluation agenda across Plan International to further the Global Strategy objectives at international, country and regional level.

You will Identify, manage and conduct high quality research projects in support of programmes, influence and fundraising for the global strategy, in particular involving quantitative study design, analysis and reporting as well as analysis of Plan International’s sponsorship data set involving over 1 million sponsored children.

  • Master’s degree or equivalent experience in research methods or development studies preferred
  • Demonstrable experience with quantitative analysis of large data sets and design of complex surveys.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., STATA, Nvivo, Dedoose) and reporting tools; knowledge of research operations, principles, and practices
  • Strong grasp of international development issues; experience in international development
  • Excellent communication skills in multicultural environments and across different time zones; integrity and honesty
  • Understanding and commitment to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women
  • Demonstrable experience in research ethics and data collection with children and vulnerable populations
  • Fluent in English with exceptional writing skills for research and communication purposes
