The Corporate & Portfolio Risk Management Department (CRM), under the Corporate Risk & Sustainability Vice-Presidency, provides Corporate-wide risk oversight of IFC’s debt, equity, and treasury portfolios, as well as managing IFC’s overall capital position and financial sustainability. Within CRM, the Risk Strategy team (CRMRS) is responsible for providing risk oversight of IFC’s ALM and Local Currency Operations, among other strategic responsibilities, such as IFC’s economic capital framework, stress-testing, RAROC, Climate Risk.
CRMRS is searching for a senior extended term consultant to join an international dynamic team supporting Local Currency Risk functions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Work with CRMRS colleagues to develop and enhance policy frameworks and monitoring mechanisms to support the expansion of local currency solutions at IFC.
• Conduct market intelligence of local and international FX and capital markets. In collaboration with the Treasury Client Solutions team, identify ways in which IFC can practically operate in each local currency, including identification of funding sources, liquidity investments/warehousing instruments as well as risk and liquidity management.
• Evaluate funding and hedging transaction proposals to assess, measure and mitigate risks in coordination with the credit, market, ALM and model risk teams. Evaluate if proposed solutions are properly priced and capitalized and assess compliance with IFC’s policies, governance, and guidelines.
• Participate in preparing memos, procedures, and frameworks for presentation to senior management and Risk Committee.
• Coordinate efforts among the different teams in the CRM Department and Treasury Client Solutions.
Selection Criteria
• Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related areas. Strong technical background and a minimum of five years of experience in Financial Risk Management or Treasury and/or trading roles.
• Experience in fixed-income and derivatives, FX risk, local currency lending, and Asset Liability Management. Experience in emerging and frontier markets is a plus.
• Knowledge of financial and business intelligence software such as Bloomberg or Reuters. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present technical issues in simple and straightforward terms.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to interact effectively with Treasury staff, technical specialists, and senior managers.
• Ability to handle pressure, meet strict deadlines, and work efficiently in multicultural teams.
• Experience in designing, drafting, and implementing risk frameworks is a plus.
