As the leading global coral finance instrument, GFCR aims to increase the protection and resilience of at least 3 million hectares of coral reefs by 2030 – representing 25% of the Coral Reef Breakthrough target and approximately 12% of reefs remaining on Earth. To reach its 2030 targets, the GFCR Coalition requires an additional $515 M USD in grant and investment capital to support portfolio growth and ensure maximum impact potential. During COP16 in October of 2024, the GFCR will launch a call for replenishment with an aim to reach full capitalization. The launch will include a communications and strategic engagement campaign aimed to shore up the delivery of major commitments from donors and investors for announcement at the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, through a variety of tactics to showcase the financial needs, opportunities, and urgency for action facing coral reefs and communities.

We are looking for an online volunteer to deliver 30 social media posts that provide human-interest stories, blended finance approach overviews, announcement information and other key strategic engagement highlights.
