The Opportunity

The post holder is responsible for the deliveries of results in line with pre-agreed program planes and objectives and oversee the implementation of the child protection policy in the PA and contribute towards achieving the country program goal of improved protection mechanisms and community practices against harmful traditional practices and violence against children. Plan International Ethiopia has put in place a child protection policy that all of its staff must adhere to and sign

The Indevidual

Educational Background

  • BA degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology Child Development and other related fields.

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of humanitarian aid experience applied in emergency/recovery response operations preferably in the area of child protection and youth program Activity
  • excellent knowledge of Child Protection and SGBV minimum standards and basic principles; Good knowledge of SGBV and Child Protection case management
  • Excellent knowledge of basic child protection and youth principles and child & adult development and learning
  • Ability to deliver quality programs at a desirable time and work under stressful conditions.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication skills in English and Amharic.
  • Gender sensitive.
  • Proposal and report writing skills.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking

Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)

  • Understand and put into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC).
  • Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
  • Ensure that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
