The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is seeking two dynamic, innovative, proactive and self-starting professionals for Electrical Technician positions to work in CIMMYT’s Maintenance unit.

The selected person will work at CIMMYT’s headquarters, located in Texcoco, State of Mexico, 45 minutes from Mexico City.

The main responsibilities of the position are:

• Interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams.
• Carry out medium and low voltage electrical installations.
• Handle instruments (multimeter, pressure switches, solenoid valves, sensors, frequency inverters, camera)
• thermographic, etc.).
• Make records and readings in the books. (Routes, routines, filling out equipment logs and logbook
• daily).
• Perform preventive/corrective maintenance on electrical equipment or machines assigned to the area, within
• of the facilities.
• Perform support functions assigned by your immediate supervisor.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

• The position holder must have a technical degree in electricity.
• The candidate must have a minimum of four years’ experience occupying a similar position.

The candidate must have knowledge and experience working with:

o Emergency plants.

o Electrical substations.

o Uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

o Control and automation

or Solar Panels.

o Electrical transformers (dry, pedestal).

o Fire systems (hydrants, pumping equipment, smoke detectors).

o Electric motors (predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance).

• The owner must be a responsible, honest, dynamic person, with initiative and possess a sense of order and cleanliness.
• The post holder must comply with established safety regulations.
• Availability is required to rotate shifts and work on weekends and holidays, in accordance with the instructions of your immediate supervisor.
• The candidate must demonstrate a sense of urgency and commitment to his/her responsibilities and deadlines.
• The incumbent must demonstrate the following competencies: Critical Thinking, Thinking
• Creative, Communication, Teamwork, Customer Focus, Problem Solving and Decision Making, Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.
