Job Purpose:

 

To provide technical support in the application and deployment of scientific solutions in various developmental programs related to the STI initiatives in the Member Countries. The role is also expected to keep track of the developments, through research and networking, and report regularly to the Management and share such knowledge within IsDB.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides technical assistance in the development of STI initiatives by keeping track of the latest and innovative trends in the field of development.
  • Coordinates STI initiatives between IsDB and Member Countries to create innovative solutions for development.
  • Assists in conducting sectoral analysis to identify developmental opportunities for IsDB Member Countries.
  • Keeps track of the new STI-based projects of the Bank and coordinates the incubation of innovative initiatives in partnership with the relevant IsDB departments, entities and Regional Hubs.
  • Facilitates communication with international partners and ensures quality response to the issues addressed.
  • Managing the complete cycle of initiative portfolios; starting from concept development, concept review and appraisal, implementation, monitoring success, lesson learnt, improvements identified and reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines on the selection of initiatives, review, implementation and cost-benefits analysis.
  • Ensure regular and effective communication of policies and initiatives within IsDB and MC’s and knowledge sharing.
  • Seeking out partnerships for raising funds and undertaking joint initiatives.

 

Academic and professional qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, International Development or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the development field with special emphasis on application of scientific solutions.
