Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the State of Climate Services Report Series.
The incumbent will perform the following duties:
– Designing visually appealing and interactive visualizations using data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, Plotly) or other tools;
– Creating compelling narratives through data-driven storytelling, ensuring visualizations are clear, concise, and easy to understand;
– Ensuring visualizations are mobile-friendly, accessible, and optimized for various platforms (web, social media, presentations);
– Performing any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor, contributing to the overall success of the team and project objectives;
– Carry out other relevant duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS | ||
Education Bachelor’s degree in data science, Statistics, Computer Science, Design, or closely related field. |

Experience – Proven experience (3+ years) in data visualization, with a strong portfolio showing your work. – Expertise in using data visualization software and tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, Plotly, etc.). – Strong understanding of data analysis principles, statistical methods, and data storytelling techniques. – Excellent design skills and a keen eye for aesthetics, ensuring visually appealing and effective visualizations. – Strong communication and presentation skills, able to explain complex data in a clear and engaging manner. – Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with colleagues and stakeholders. – Passion for data visualization and a desire to learn and innovate within the field. – Prior working experience with UN Agencies will be an added advantage. – Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. – Experience with data visualization for social media platforms and other digital channels. |

Languages Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage. (Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.) |
