JOB DESCRIPTION

Master Trainers for FPO Functionaries and Boards

Objective:

To train and develop the capacity of FPO (Farmer Producer Organization) functionaries and board members on topics related to marketing (value chains, branding, value creation), product differentiation, incentive structure, selection mechanism, and principal agency. The training will focus on better/modern technology for improved productivity, creating management systems, market linkages, facilitating business operations, and providing guidance for the growth of the FPOs in Odisha.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Training Delivery: Deliver training sessions using a variety of methods, including lectures, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing exercises.
  2. Facilitation: Facilitate interactive learning sessions and encourage active participation from participants.
  3. Evaluation: Develop/support in developing and administering pre- and post-training assessments to measure learning outcomes.
  4. Support in training material development: Assist the IFPRI team in preparing the training materials, including presentations, handouts, and other resources.
  5. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of training sessions, participant feedback, and evaluation results.
  6. Prepare training report: Prepare training report for each training conducted including the feedback of the participants.
  7. Incorporate changes as per the feedback: Apprise and assist the IFPRI team in incorporating the suggestions as received by the participants.

Qualifications and Desirable Experience:

  • Master’s degree or higher in agriculture, MBA in rural management/development, agri-business or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in training and development, preferably in the area of agri-business.
  • Strong understanding of FPOs, their operations, and challenges.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills in English and Oriya.
  • Experience in designing and delivering training programs.
  • Ability to adapt training materials to different audiences and learning styles.
  • Readiness to undertake travels in different districts/blocks of Odisha.

Deliverables:

  • Undergo the Training of Trainers (ToT) by the IFPRI staff
  • Delivery of about 10-15 trainings days (including ToT) per master trainer in different districts/blocks of Odisha for FPO team and Board
  • Filled-in pre and post-training assessment tools of each batch (number of trainings)
  • Submission of final training reports (including feedback from the participants) of each batch (number of trainings).
