JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

IFC — a member of the World Bank Group — is the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets. We work in more than 100 countries, using our capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities. Our mission is to leverage the power of the private sector to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity on a livable planet. For more information, visit www.ifc.org.

IFC’s Institutional Risk and Governance Department (CRG) is responsible for setting business standards and providing advice and guidance to the IFC Board, Management, and business teams on non-financial business risks that may arise in IFC investments, advisory work, and IFC’s corporate functions.  One of these is “business integrity risk” – corruption, fraud, economic sanctions, litigation, criminal activity/history, politically exposed persons, opaque ownership structures, money laundering, terrorist financing  – any of which can negatively impact an IFC project or IFC’s reputation as the preeminent international organization operating in the private sector. The Business Integrity Risk (BR) Department in CRG advises on business integrity risks in IFC projects, helps design integrity risk mitigation measures in new IFC products, trains staff on integrity risks, and provides thought leadership on these topics.

The BR team helps mitigate risks in IFC investments and advisory services. IFC’s advisory services establish the necessary conditions to attract the most private capital, enabling the private sector to grow. This may include working with governments to structure public-private partnerships to improve people’s access to high-quality infrastructure and basic services or advising a private sector company on improving its operational performance and sustainability.

•  Serve as the primary BR point of contact on business integrity matters, including IDD and AML/CFT due diligence about advisory projects.
