The global UNICEF IT strategy for collaborative platforms and document management systems is based on Microsoft technologies and cloud services such as Office 365E3 and Microsoft Azure.
With guidance and supervision provided by the Project Officer (Internal Application, and in close collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, the Project Analyst manages the development of integrated solutions to Supply Division (Sstrategies by participating in business requirements gathering, identifying, and documenting functional and nonfunctional requirements. The Project Analyst is also practicing project management of development projects, monitoring and driving the development of these ICT solutions. The Project Analyst will be involved in multiple crosscutting projects simultaneously. The integrated solutions are around collaboration, knowledge management, supply chain monitoring & reporting, external workflow to support SD Operations and application of ICT toward innovation initiatives.

Purpose of Activity/Assignment:

  • Liaise, partner and communicate with all stakeholders while gathering business requirements and specifying functional requirements.
  • Manage development of integrated technical solutions as per the Supply Division Business architecture, processes and information architecture.
  • Document technical and businessrelated aspects related to the integrated solutions.

  1. Tasks/Milestone: Last Mile Application SCOLead coordination for development and deployment of Last Mile Application for Somalia Country Office
    Deliverables/Outputs: Coordinated development and deployment for LMSM SCO and supported training for the same.
    Timeline: Q3/Q4 2024
  2. Tasks/Milestone: SCIP EnhancementsTimely development and deployment of enhancements for SCIP Application.
    Deliverables/Outputs: SCIP enhancements developed and deployment complete.
    Timeline: Q4 2024 – Q1 2025
  3. Tasks/Milestone: CICA EnhancementsTimely development and deployment of enhancements for CICA Application.
    Deliverables/Outputs: CIP enhancements developed and deployment completed.
    Timeline: Q3/Q4 2024
  4. Tasks/Milestone: Timely support of existing integrated solutions.
    Deliverables/Outputs: Integrated internal/external applications supported.
    Timeline: Oct 2024Feb 2025

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advance university degree in Information systems, Information Technology, Management, Supply Chain Management is required.
    *A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience in the industry.
  • Proven experience in eliciting and documenting business and functional requirements in supply chain systems.
  • Conversant with common project management methodologies.
  • Previous knowledge of digital supply chain systems is preferred.
  • Previous experience of working with digital applications within UNICEF or UN system is an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanisor a local language is an asset.

Individuals engaged under a consultancy or individual contract will not be considered “staff members” under the Staff Regulations and Rules of the United Nations and UNICEF’s policies and procedures, and will not be entitled to benefits provided therein (such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverag. Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors.
