JOB DESCRIPTION

IT Intern – Country Focused Role

This role has a strong country focus and is responsible for ensuring compliance with DRC procedures and guidelines. The IT Intern plays a key role in contributing to the development of country strategies, translating them into action plans and supporting daytoday tasks. The position provides technical support and guidance to country operations, while ensuring the smooth functioning of IT systems and overseeing countryspecific IT activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support email and internet functionality across the organization.
  • Troubleshoot LAN and wireless connection issues.
  • Provide hardware and software support.
  • Oversee software and network security, ensuring that antivirus systems are uptodate.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on IT equipment as per the scheduled routine.
  • Perform general repairs on IT equipment and peripherals.
  • Ensure timely payment of internet and Thuraya bills.
  • Reinforce IT policies among users.
  • Document network problems and resolutions for future reference.
  • Monitor system performance and implement performance tuning as needed.
  • Administer domains and manage user email creation.
  • Maintain an inventory of all IT equipment and software in use and in storage.

Experience and Technical Competencies:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar position.
  • Advanced proficiency in English.
  • Fluency in the local language.
  • Experience working in NGOs is preferred.

Languages:

  • Excellent Communication skills in English required.
  • Knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
