  1. Champion ending TB with financing and political advocacy
  2. Mobilize an equitable and inclusive peoplecentered TB movement
  3. Build a stigmafree Communityled, Rightsbased, Gendertransformative TB response
  4. Catalyze, incubate and support the scaleup of TB innovations
  5. Facilitate access to qualityassured, affordable TB products

STBP’s willingness to push boundaries are crucial factors in reaching the UNHLM on TB commitments and targets agreed upon by Heads of States and the TB communityatlarge.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPhas hosted the STBP Secretariat (“Secretariat”) since 2015, in Geneva, Switzerland.

Background

The Stop TB Partnership’s External Affairs & Strategic Initiatives (EASteam leads, manages, and coordinates the organization’s work related to:

  1. External Affairs – Engagement with external partners and stakeholders, particularly with potential, new donors and funders and the private sector, and
  2. Strategic Initiatives – Development of new publicprivate initiatives and projects and the implementation of the Reimagining TB Care (RTinitiative (website).

As part of the RTC initiative, we are developing a TB Innovation Sandbox to catalyze and strengthen the realistic and practical rollout of current and future TB innovations (ideas, services, and product. The primary goal for the Sandbox is to create a virtual space and community to become a:

  • Onestop clearinghouse of curated content and resources;
  • Social network for country stakeholders and partners to share knowledge, exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, etc.;
  • Realtime tracking of countrybycountry rollout; and
  • Online learning through open courseware / masterclass lessons, simulations, gamified experiences, etc.

Additionally, we are planning a TB Innovation Summit in 2025 to highlight emerging innovations in TB, facilitate collaboration among new and existing stakeholders, and serve as a launchpad for new ideas and partnerships in Asia.

 

 

Under the guidance of the Strategic Initiatives Manager, the consultant will support core activities to increase the uptake of new innovations and collaboration among practitioners to end TB as part of the Reimagining TB Care initiative.

The main areas of work will be:

RTC Implementation, Scaleup, and Replication Strategy

  • Support the implementation of RTC’s strategic vision for 20242026, including updating the business and work plan and advocacy and communications plan and tracker.
  • Support the development of concept notes, pitch decks, and donor proposals, including engagement with potential donors.
  • Support the implementation of key activities like enhancing and publicizing the Product Innovation Scan and proactive outreach to new innovators.
  • Support the coordination of the RTC Collaboration (CollaGroup and organize biannual and annual update calls, as well as developing regular virtual updates to share by email.
  • Oversee the design and content of the RTC website and associated digital and physical material.

Assist in the development of the TB Innovation Sandbox

  • Assist in the development of additional thematic areas or “courses” based on demand and enduser feedback.
  • Help review and oversee the development of a portal that allows designated course facilitators to augment the content in their course (i.e., upload new videos, add links to additional content, etc.).
  • Support the identification of automated ways of creating personalized content or Lead courses through generative AIenabled solutions.
  • Support the development of additional engagement and incentive features (i.e., gamified progress, certifications, or other rewardto maintain current endusers, attract new endusers, and foster an active community of endusers.
  • Help review and oversee the development and implementation of campaigns and other advocacy and communication activities to raise awareness and uptake of the platform.
  • Support the gathering and implementing inputs and feedback on the platform from endusers.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the developed platform and engagement with its endusers.

Oversee the planning and implementation of the TB Innovation Summit 2025 for Asia

  • Assist in planning calls with partners (cosponsors, event managers, speakers, and participantin the run up to the event.
  • Help with the development of materials for the event including Save the Date, registration materials, programme agendas, speaker invitations and thank you letters, and other materials to facilitate the event.
  • Support logistics such as travel for designated speakers, transportation and hotels.
  • Support ensuring the venue is ready and set up for the event, overseeing the various panels and sessions, and the overall running of the event.
  • Help design a campaign to raise awareness for the event and disseminate information after the event.
  • Oversee the development of the website with dedicated content about the event.

Support updating and maintaining the RTC website and associated online materials

Advertisement
  • Support in updating the Product Innovation Scan (InnoScawebpage to make it more accessible, customizable, and searchable. Develop a mechanism to enable the EASI team to easily modify the content and structure of the InnoScan, as well as publish a functionality to automatically enable organizations to apply or submit their details for inclusion in the InnoScan.
  • Explore methods to increase uptake and usage for the InnoScan, and connect organizations in the scan with potential partners.
  • Continuous maintenance and updating the website with content, project updates, and upcoming events.
  • Support the implementation of our website engagement strategy including mailers of quarterly newsletters.
  • The Strategic Initiatives Officer will support the Strategic Initiatives Manager in broad activities to support the EASI team for RTC and other initiatives.


Impact of Results

  • Increased provision and access to decentralized, integrated, and peoplecentered care in TB affected countries.
  • Accelerated rollout of product innovations, particularly digital health technologies and/or adjacent solutions, that will facilitate decentralized, integrated, and peoplecentered care in TB affected countries.
  • Increased collaboration between countries and/ or partners developing or deploying innovations in public health.

 

 

Educational Requirements:

  • Advanced university (Master’degree preferably in fields related to digital health, technology and entrepreneurship, public health, or computer science/ engineering or other relevant discipline
  • University (Bachelor’degree in one of the abovelisted subjects in combination with two (2) additional years of relevant professional experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant professional experience in digital health, technology, entrepreneurship, public health, computer science/ engineering or related area is required.
    • Prior professional experience working at organizations focused on innovation in resourcelimited settings is desirable.
    • Prior professional experience working at a product or innovation company, consulting firm, international organization, digital health company or startup or other relevant companies and organizations is desirable.
    • Prior experience working in resourcelimited settings, with community partners, or in communities deploying innovations for public health is desirable, but not required.
    • Prior professional experience working in TB and global health is desirable, but not required.

Language requirements:

  • Ability to communicate in English (spoken and writtein a clear and concise manner is required.
  • Fluency of another UN official language, particularly French, would be desirable.
