Background/Context
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security.
In Indonesia, UN Women works with government, civil society organizations (CSO, academia, the media, the public and private sectors to address national priorities of gender equality and women’s empowerment. Placing the advancement of women’s rights at the centre of our work, UN Women Indonesia focuses on (1) Ending violence against women (2) Promoting women’s human rights (3) Women’s economic empowerment (4) Women contribute to and have greater influence in building sustainable peace.
As the specialized UN Agency on gender equality and the empowerment of women, UN Women in Indonesia is also working alongside other UN Agencies to ensure that commitments on gender equality and gender mainstreaming are translated into UN works and programmes to achieve Sustainable Development Goals across the country. UN Women programmes in Indonesia are guided by the Strategic Note 20212025, that is aligned with UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCsigned between the Ministry of National Planning and UN system in the country. In addition to programmatic interventions, UN Women has a triple mandate of normative support, UN coordination, and operational activities.
Objectives of the Assignment
The United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCis a strategic framework guiding UN development activities in Indonesia. While significant progress has been made, there is an opportunity to strengthen the resultbased management of the UNSDCF and enhance gendersensitive reporting.
To address this need, as part of a joint effort among UN Agencies, the Gender Thematic Working Group (GTand Data, Monitoring, & Evaluation and Learning (DMEWorking Group will organize a training to enhance the capacities of UN personnel in ResultsBased Management (RB, with a focus on gender, disability, social inclusion, and resultsbased reporting.
This training will help to enhance gender and social inclusion elements, with a particular focus on disability and youth inclusion, within UN Indonesia’s programming, monitoring, and reporting efforts. Additionally, the training will directly contribute to strengthening inputs for the UN Annual Report 2024 and support the preparation of the Monitoring & Evaluation framework for the next Cooperation Framework, as well as UN agencies’ new Country Programme Documents.
Under the overall guidance of the UN RCO Development Coordination Officer, Data and M&E, the consultant will be reporting to the UN Women Indonesia Monitoring and Reporting Analyst, who will be the point of contact on the contract and payment issues.
Description of Responsibilities/Scope of Work
Consultant’s Workplace and Official Travel
This is a homebased consultancy. The consultant will be based in Jakarta, Indonesia, with possible official travel within the country/outside of Jakarta, depending on the venue for the capacity building activities.
Consultant’s Working Arrangement
The Team Leader will work together with another national consultant as the team member as well as cofacilitate with DMEL and GTG focal point on the Gender Equality Marker (GE.
Expected Deliverables
The consultant will work under the direct supervision of Monitoring and Reporting Analyst, UN Women Indonesia.
