JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Overview: The Safety and Wellness programs ensure that clients have access to ongoing psychosocial support to serve their adjustment needs as well as ensures additional culturally and linguistically sensitive mental health referral support services are available.

The Safety & Wellness Program Manager manages overall project implementation, quality, and delivery. This position is responsible for supervising staff, supporting business development and developing community relationships with providers specializing in safety, wellness and health services.

Major Responsibilities:

Program Management and Implementation

  • Manages and supports project implementation, quality, and delivery
  • Supports the design of evidencedbased, clientcentered and traumainformed programming that is in alignment with IRC’s Outcomes to Evidence framework
  • Leads the process of identifying evidencebased psychological groupbased interventions and supporting the development of related materials for implementation
  • Support Safety & Wellness program staff in the planning and implementation of groupbased interventions
  • Ensures that program impact can be represented through quality data, in collaboration with the Data and Quality Assurance Coordinator and Senior Resettlement Manager.
  • In collaboration with the Senior Resettlement Manager and Deputy Director, develops and manages program budgets and Standard Operating Procedures (SOfor the local New York Office.
  • Provide guidance, consultation, and crisis intervention support to caseworkers who have clients with urgent mental health concerns.
  • Provide workshops and trainings for caseworkers on how to handle cases with mental health concerns.
  • Provide direct mental health services to clients and hold a small case load as needed.

Staff Supervision

  • Conducts task supervision to Mental Health Coordinators
  • Identifies gaps in services and works to address these through internal and external capacity building
  • Provides supervision and debriefing with staff during critical incidents
  • Provides clinical supervision of Mental Health Coordinators and Safety & Wellness Program MSW interns (standard: weekl
  • Ensures Mental Health Coordinators and Interns are trained in core competencies to deliver quality work.
  • Ensures understanding of and adherence to crisis protocols.
  • Reviews assessments and individual service plans to ensure for best practice standards.
  • Provide clinical supervision, field placement and other requirements for MSW/MHC/MFT/PsyD interns.

Business Development & Community Engagement

  • Supports all aspects of business development, in collaboration with the Senior Resettlement Manager, including but not limited to identifying opportunities, supporting grant submissions, identifying, nurturing, and maintaining partnerships.
  • Analyzes trends and elevates opportunities, gaps, concerns to leadership
  • Represents IRC locally; sits in working groups; coalitions
  • Develops and maintains portfolio of community providers for referral to specialized safety, wellness, and health services

Education Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSand completion of Supervisor in Field Instruction (SIFor ability to complete SIFI within 6 months of hire.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience providing social services or health programming for vulnerable populations
  • Experience in supervising staff, managing programs including working with budgets, and writing grants.
  • Experience in working with forcibly displaced populations; experience working with refugees and immigrants to navigate American social/human service systems preferred
  • Experience providing individual and/or group based psychological interventions
  • Experience providing clinical supervision

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of local partnerships and community connections
  • Understanding of the systems that intersect with migration and resettlement
  • Understanding of social/human service systems
  • Experience supervising staff, providing MHPSS services and working with forcibly displaced populations.
  • Understands clinical diagnosis formulations, mandatory reporting, suicide assessment, safety planning, and how to use validated measures
  • Experienced in best practice approaches with forcibly displaced populations, including but not limited to CBT; SPR; PM+; psychoeducation
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language Spanish, French, Russian, Ukrainian or Dari is desired.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outloo; ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problemsolving purposes.
  • Selfstarter with excellent problemsolving skills combined with the proven ability to prioritize duties and manage time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.

Working Environment:

  • A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to USbased candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
