JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Main Purpose

The purpose of the consultancy is to provide technical expertise and advice with regards to the development of training materials and documentation related to effective communication with the public during nuclear or radiological emergencies, and to provide expertise that contributes to the preparation of final products and events.

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Development and revision of training materials on communication with the public in nuclear or radiological emergencies, ensuring that final products align with best practices.
• Revision process of the EPR Series publication on “Communication with the Public in a Nuclear or Radiological Emergency.”
• Preparation of documentation and materials related to the Technical Meeting on emergency communication.
• Offering insights and recommendations for the development of content for Training of Trainers (Tosessions and workshops on emergency communication.
• Creation of content for webinars and other virtual training events focused on emergency communication, contributing to the refinement and quality of final materials.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Public Information, Crisis Communications, Science Communications, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in communication, including demonstrated experience in providing support to the development, drafting, and editing of publications, reports, policy briefs, or public communication materials on complex technical topics intended for wide audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to the development and delivery of adult teaching, training, and educational programs related to public communication.
  • Experience in emergency communication, misinformation/disinformation, nuclear communication, or public health communication is a significant asset.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanisis an asset.

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 250, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSand travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
