How can you make a difference?

The Partnerships Manager supports the Representative to push the fundraising agenda to ensure that risks to country programme funding are mitigated. This position is critical in ensuring that the office’s communication strategy and fundraising plans are developed, implemented and monitored to ensure sustained funding. Partnerships would also be strengthened through this position.

Key duties and accountabilities

Fundraising and Resource Mobilization:  Support the Representative to manage and lead the resource mobilization efforts of the office through the development and implementation of the CO’s Fundraising Strategy

Partnerships Management: Manage a partnership database and support the Representative in maintaining and forging new partner relationships in and out of The Gambia that advance the fulfilment of the rights of children.

Communications and Advocacy Strategy: Ensure the development and implementation of the communication, external media and visibility strategy.

Monitoring and Reporting: Establish a monitoring system that tracks progress on the fundraising, communications and other related strategies and plans; and ensure quality assurance of all products coming out of the communications, knowledge management and resource mobilization areas

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: Master’s degree in marketing, public relations, partnerships, communications, journalism or related field.
  • Work Experience: At least 5 years of practical professional work experience in communication, print and broadcast media, or interactive digital media, with excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in English

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
  • Rightsbased and resultsbased approach and programming in UNICEF
  • UNICEF Global and Partnerships trends and emerging patterns
  • Ethical Guidelines on reporting on children
  • UN or other international organisations; good understanding of world affairs, current events and international development issues
  • Global human rights issues, specifically relating to children and women, and current UNICEF position and approaches
  • Gender equality and diversity awareness
  • Knowledge management tools and systems for effective execution of core tasks
  • Computer systems, including internet navigation, office applications, and specifically, interactive digital media
  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an asset.
