Scope of Work:
Starting in January 2022, upon request of the Government of Albania and of the United States of America, with financial support from USAID (and later from BPR, UNICEF began responding to the needs of the Afghan population transiting in Albania, by providing education, health, child protection and cash assistance services through NGO implementing partners.
As of June 2024, well over 6000 Afghans have received UNICEF services and transited through Albania as part of these programs and flights continue to regularly arrive and depart from Albania as part of the official agreement between the U.S. and Albanian governments. The current arrival flow is 100120 person per week, for an estimated stay in Albania for around 24 weeks.
The Platform support coordinator position maintains a key role with regard to sound and coordinated implementation of humanitarian protection, social welfare services and its role remains vital to daily operations on platform.
Specific tasks and deliverables of the consultant are:
Deliverable 1: Provide technical support and advice on the rollout and implementation of platform welfare services, including coordination, training, and mentoring for UNICEF implementing partners.

Monthly report on number of arrivals and departures, challenges and main activities/services provided by UNICEF partners.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…
University degree relations and/or other related fields.
Very good knowledge of the U.S. Refugee and SIV programs
Proven skills in coordinating programmes, leading and chairing meetings, and liaising between offices/operations.
Background in organizing and facilitating camp / platform operations.
Good knowledge of communitybased protection, including understanding of the community’s role, structure and practices, including the community’s social, cultural and gender norms within the operation
Fluency in English is required.
Social workrelated experience is an advantage.
Experience working with an Afghan population, proficiency in Pashto or Dari languages is an advantage.

Their conditions of service will be governed by their contract and the General Conditions of Contracts for the Services of Consultants and Individual Contractors. Consultants and individual contractors are responsible for determining their tax liabilities and for the payment of any taxes and/or duties, in accordance with local or other applicable laws.
The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicabland health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fullyvaccinated status against SARSCoV2 (Covid19) with a World Health Organization (WHendorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment.
