JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Your Role

As a Director, you will lead the Knowledge Support Division, (DCKD) within the Department of Communications and Knowledge Management (DOCK). DCKD brings ADB to target audiences through publishing, dissemination and marketing, internal communications, and the development and maintenance of web and knowledge management infrastructure and assets and will be responsible to:

  • Provide overall leadership for the division.
  • Manage, support, and guide the dissemination and marketing of content on ADB’s communications and knowledge dissemination channels and platforms, to internal and external target audiences.
  • Strengthen and implement DOCK’s role as ADB’s Publisher.
  • Manage and maintain corporate assets and infrastructure, including governance of ADB.org and other digital platforms.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication and knowledge dissemination initiatives
  • Oversee and manage day-to-day division operations, including financial and human resources.

Your Responsibilities

Production, Dissemination, and Marketing

  • Undertake, manage, and oversee the production, publication, copyright, marketing, and dissemination of all publicly facing materials and products, including knowledge products and awareness-raising materials, through digital and non-digital platforms and channels,
  • Support and guide departments and offices across ADB for their content dissemination and marketing
  • Implement impact tracking of communication metrics for applicable platforms and products, report these data for analysis to the department’s Front Office, and implement changes to improve ADB’s performance in these areas

Infrastructure and asset Development and Maintenance

  • Oversee the management, development, and maintenance of physical infrastructure (i.e., maintain libraries and physical assets) and digital infrastructure (i.e., Digital KM, corporate web properties, and new digital platforms).
  • Manage ADB’s email marketing program and subscriber databases

Internal Communications

  • Manage the production and delivery of ADB internal communications products including the OneADB Today newsletter.

Human and Budget Resource Development and Management.

  • Manage DOCK’s contractor list and vendor relationships, including contract renewals and amendments, and facilitating onboarding and training of contractors.
  • Manage the budget resources of the division.
  • Manage DCKD team, including recruitment and career development, and individual performance.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to teams and individuals to ensure ongoing learning and development.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • Master’s degree, or equivalent, in Communications, Public/Business Administration, Public Policy, International Development or related fields or University degree and at least 10 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience including at international level, and demonstrated understanding of development issues, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Experience leading internal and external communication and knowledge dissemination initiatives, including publishing, web, multimedia, and newsletters.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • A track record of strategically and efficiently managing budget resources.
  • Proven management and leadership qualities.
  • Excellent capabilities in people and talent leadership, strong client and impact orientation, and effective communication skill
