JOB DESCRIPTION

Background:

The OSCE Programme Office in Dushanbe promotes the implementation of OSCE principles and commitments, as well as the co-operation of the Republic of Tajikistan within the OSCE framework in all three dimensionsю It is involved in a wide range of activities, ranging from counter-terrorism and border management projects to supporting cross-border markets and free economic zones, human rights, media development, and legal reform initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for cleaning and keeping in orderly condition the premises of the OSCE POiD Office.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Under the overall supervision of the Materials Management Officer, the successful candidate will be tasked with the following duties:

  1. Cleaning offices, conference room, corridors, kitchens, toilets and storage room;
  2. Dusting furniture, except computers; cleaning doors, kitchen cabinets, refrigerator, windows and walls;
  3. Washing or vacuums floors and carpets;
  4. Emptying waste bins into trash containers;
  5. Cleaning the toilets and sinks;
  6. Replenishing soap and paper towel dispensers;
  7. Washing used dishes deposited by staff members in kitchen;
  8. Keeping cleaning equipment clean and in working order; advises the supervisor of the need to replace identified equipment;
  9. Informing the supervisor of low stocks of cleaning tools, solutions, powder, soap and related accessories;
  10. Cleaning staircase/outdoor area, balconies (front and back);
  11. Placing glasses, cups, drinking water and coffee on conference tables, arranges chairs in conference rooms;
  12. Preparing hot and cold refreshments for meetings;
  13. Informing the supervisor of low stock of coffee, tea, and sugar;
  14. Performing related duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Secondary school diploma;
  • No particular specialized experience is required to perform the tasks assigned. Previous experience working as an office cleaner;
  • Knowledge of Russian and Tajik. Limited knowledge of English;
  • The work requires knowledge of simple machine operations and use of cleaning materials/solutions;
  • Demonstrated gender awareness and sensitivity, and an ability to integrate a gender perspective into tasks and activities;
  • Ability and willingness to work as a member of team, with people of different cultural, and religious backgrounds, different gender, and diverse political views, while maintaining impartiality and objectivity;

Remuneration Package:

Monthly remuneration, subject to social security deductions, is 444.08 EUR. Social benefits will include participation in the medical insurance scheme and the OSCE Provident Fund.
