JOB DESCRIPTION

Task description

The volunteer will support the design and development of infographics that visually represent the impact of energy transition investments on social development in the Latin American and Caribbean region. This includes taking data provided by the research team and transforming it into clear, engaging visuals that can be used to communicate complex information effectively. The key roles of the volunteer include: – Create 4 infographics that effectively visualize the research findings on the impact of energy transition investments, including data related to gender, finance, governance, climate change, and employment in the Latin America and Caribbean region. – Work closely with the research team to understand the data and transform it into clear, accessible visuals that align with UNDP’s messaging and objectives. – Coordinate with the SEH team to ensure the infographics reflect the key insights from the research, incorporating feedback and making revisions as necessary. Final Outputs from this Assignment Include: – Development of 4 Infographics: Elaboration of four visually compelling infographics that present the data and insights from the ongoing research on energy transition investments and their impact on social development in the Latin American and Caribbean region. – Data Visualization Files: Delivery of final infographic files in a format suitable for publication and dissemination. Please note that the volunteer must be able to dedicate 20 hours/week during the first two weeks of the assignment, as we aim to have the first infographic set ready by November 15th.

Requirements

Required experience

– Strong academic background or relevant experience in graphic design, data visualization, or a related field – Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or similar) – Ability to transform complex data into clear, visually engaging infographics – Excellent attention to detail and aesthetic sense in design – Strong communication skills to collaborate with the research team and interpret data effectively – Familiarity with the Latin America and Caribbean region is desired to better understand the local context and impact
