Functional Setting:

Under the supervision and guidance of the Head of the West Africa Regional Office (WA-RO), the Senior Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and coordination of ICMPD activities within the framework of the Support to Free Movement of Persons and Migration in West Africa project (FMM II). S/he ensures the direction of project activities, delivery of project outputs and the achievement of project targets and results in line with ICMPD´s strategy, rules, business processes, and quality standards and in accordance with work plans and budgets. As an active member of the West Africa regional team, the Senior Project Manager provides high-quality professional inputs and exercises a high degree of strategic, as well as operational management in the development and implementation of projects.

Position- Specific Expertise:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of migration and/or migration-related topics in the region is desirable.
• Experience in multi-thematic areas of migration (i.e. border management, trafficking in persons, labour management etc.) will be considered a distinct asset.

Position- Specific Qulaifications and Language Skills:

• Masters degree in Political Science, Migration Studies and/or other related field.
• In addition to the languages listed in the job profile (i.e. fluent English), fluent French is a requirement.
