To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Contribute and assist the government in reviewing, adjusting, and formulating relevant (e.g., shock responsive, nutrition sensitive social protection) policies and strategies under the implementation of a technical assistanceproject with the cabinet Division.
2. Support the government (e.g., Cabinet Division) in strengthening the coordination mechanism, knowledge management, and sharing of best practices among various sectors to establish linkages and maximize the impact of nutrition-sensitive and shock-responsive social protection.
3. Support the production of knowledge products that contribute to an evidence base informing the decision-making processes of WFP and other stakeholders.
4. Coordinate evidence generation and advocacy actions (i.e. research, learning, assessment etc.) to ensure TAPP objective (shock responsive and nutrition sensitive social protection) in line with the WFP’s CSP-II and government national policies e.g. NSSS, NPAN2, etc.
5. Facilitate and provide technical assistance to the government on arranging consultation meetings with relevant stakeholders on various issues, including, but not limited to, drafting, designing, and validating a strategy, roadmap, etc.
6. Support the identification, development, and management of potential partnerships to collaborative working leading to implement the technical project with Cabinet Division.
7. Support the capacity-building initiatives on shock-responsive and nutrition-sensitive social protection for government officials, WFP staff, and partners to design and implement national programs, policies, and strategies to achieve the SDG agenda.
8. Contribute to preparing accurate and timely reporting on programs and activities that enable informed decision-making programs and activities that enable informed decision-making and consistency of information.
9. Liaise with internal programme teams to ensure effective collaboration, coherence, and synchronization. Act as a point of referral and assist them with analysis and queries.
10. Assist in organizing a joint visit of officials of relevant ministries to the Programme areas to solicit guidance on nutrition-sensitive and shock-responsive social protection.
11. Contribute to WFP’s internal process (i.e., monitoring, reporting, budgeting, expenditure tracking, partnership management etc.) as and when necessary.
12. Other as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant.

Experience: At least 5 years of solid and responsible work experience with humanitarian or development sector; a minimum of 3 years of professional relevant working experience in programme.

Language: Fluency in both Bangla and English (level C) language.
