Position Overview

Reporting to the Program Manager for Civil Society and Human Rights, the Program Associate will be required to perform a range of tasks and assignments, including administration, financial monitoring, communication, proposal development support, and other assigned tasks related to PADF’s programming in Civil Society and Human Rights. In addition, they will conduct selected research assignments, depending on the overall program and new business priorities.

This position will be based in Washington D.C.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support general program management efforts, including contributing to technical reports, budget tracking, drafting of contracts and agreements, and preparing payments for program activities and outputs.
  • Assist with the review and analysis of documents and information received from partners and/or field teams.
  • Assist in the tracking of sub-partners’ performance, providing feedback, guidance and assistance as needed to ensure successful program implementation.
  • Support internal PADF program administrative procedures, in liaison with other programs, finance and administrative teams within the organization and ensure compliance with PADF policies and procedures.
  • Support communications efforts for projects and for institutional visibility, including creating content, supporting the development of communications plans, and proactively identifying opportunities to raise PADF’s profile in the region.
  • Assist in ensuring that all program documentation is current and complete while maintaining program tracking documentation and databases.
  • Support projects as needed with correspondence, research, news monitoring, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Provide support to proposal development processes as needed.
  • Travel to projects as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications 

  • At least one (1) year of work experience in international development, disaster management, democracy, civil society, human rights, labor rights and/or anti-human trafficking.
  • Bachelor’s degree in international studies, international development, law, business administration, public policy, economics, or related field.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish with strong oral and writing skills in both languages.

Desirable 

  • Experience within the Latin America and Caribbean region and understanding of local dynamics.
  • Exposure to / experience in program and proposal development processes.

Salary Range: $55,000 – $62,000.

A candidate’s salary is determined by multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and internal organizational equity.
