Execution of project activities for the “Global Replication to Eliminate Hazardous Chemicals from Supply Chains,” (GEF ID 11177) in accordance with the CEO endorsement document and the project steering committee-approved workplan for the global project.

Duties and Responsibilities
The tasks and responsibilities of the Individual contractor will be as follows: • Project management o Oversee the overall coordination of project activities and ensure timely and efficient delivery according to the project document and workplan. o Liaising with GEF Secretariat, Implementing Agencies, Executing Agencies as well as other relevant GEF programmes. o Coordinate the organization of the IP’s Programme Coordination Advisory Group meetings and Global Coordination Project Steering Committee meetings. o Coordinate the organization and execution of Partners Forums and meetings between Asia and Latin America child projects. o Develop N+1 workplan for approval by the Steering Committee. • Budgeting and financial management o Undertake the budget monitoring according to the budget plan and co-finance plan. o Prepare quarterly reporting against the annual workplan and budget. o Provide support with technical aspects of procurement and financial management e.g., drafting of technical scopes of work/ Terms of Reference, reviewing technical reports and deliverables. • Procurement o Develop and deliver of annual procurement plans. o Draft the technical specifications to initiate the procurement processes for development of the knowledge products and knowledge management platform according to the workplan. • Knowledge management and stakeholder engagement o Coordinate the development of a knowledge management platform for the IP. o Contribute to the research and development of knowledge products requiring external support. o Ensure the linkage of knowledge activities and the Global Coordination Project strategies (including Component 1 Knowledge Management Strategy and Component 2, Communication Strategy, Outreach Gender Action Plan, Stakeholder Engagement, and other strategies to be developed). o Organize technical consultations with stakeholders. In addition, the ICA will provide further support as required and requested by the Programme Management Officer.
Qualifications/special skills
A university degree in Biology, Chemistry, Health, Environment, Economics / or Natural Sciences with a proven professional experience is required. A master’s degree in Sustainable Development, Environment, or Health is an asset. Minimum five years of experience related to sound management of chemicals in intergovernmental organizations. Experience in managing, analyzing and synthesizing information, including related to technical topics on sound chemicals management is required. Experience working with partners and diversity of stakeholders from various countries, including developing countries is desirable. Experience preparing or working on GEF projects is an advantage. Experience working in/with UNEP or other UN agencies is an asset.
Languages
Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Knowledge of other United Nations languages (Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, French, Russian, and Spanish) is an asset.
