Mission and objectives
The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. We work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.
Context
On 12 July 2024, UNV launched the Eurasia State of Volunteering Report, which explores the impact of volunteering activities, the value of volunteer contributions, and the role of OPDs (Organizations of Persons with Disabilities) in the region. The report encompasses countries across Eurasia, showcasing the importance of volunteer engagement and collaboration with OPDs.
Task Description
Selected volunteer will undertake tasks focused on Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPD) mapping, outreach, and data organization across the Eurasia region. This assignment aims to increase awareness and collaboration opportunities with OPDs by establishing a structured and accessible resource. Key responsibilities include: OPD Mapping: Identify relevant OPDs, documenting organizations that support disability inclusion in each country. Outreach: Engage with mapped OPDs to verify organization details, gather additional information, and explore potential collaboration opportunities. Data Organization: Compile and structure the collected information in an Excel file, including key details such as organization name, area of activity, contact information, and social media profiles where applicable.
