OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
To ensure that effective WHO country presence is established to implement WHO country cooperation strategies that are aligned with Member State’s health priorities, sustainable development agendas and harmonized with the United Nations country teams and partners to improve health outcomes and progress towards achieving Universal Health Coverage.
ORGANIZATIONAL SETTING
The Health Data Officer works under the direct supervision of the Technical Officer for Health Information Systems. She/he is expected to perform his/her duties and responsibilities with the highest degree of efficiency and sound judgment.
The incumbent coordinates activities in the designated areas but does not have direct supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Function 1 (incl. expected results)
In collaboration with the IT directorate at the Jordanian Ministry of Health (MOH), support the District Health Information Software version 2 (DHIS2) tool implementation according to the requirements under the project implemented at the WHO Country Office (WCO), achieving results such as:

Monitors and coordinates data management activities in collaboration with local authorities and partners, achieving results such as:

Manages training activities to strengthen capacity at various levels, achieving results such as:
WORK RELATIONS AND PARTNERSHIPS
The Health Data Officer liaises with various partners both inside and outside WHO mainly coordinating DHIS2 data management activities. S/he equally will support the integration and standardization of data management activities and collaborate with partners on creating health facility profiles. Internally, the incumbent liaises with all units to ensure the requirements of the health facility profile are met and the data warehouse is effectively used by all the programs.
IMPACT OF THE FUNCTION
The functions have a direct impact on implementing DHIS2 integration with the electronic medical record and other tools and strengthening national capabilities for DHIS2 governance. The establishment of a comprehensive DHIS2 data warehouse can be used by other programs and for decision-making and improving surveillance systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education Qualifications
Essential: First-level university degree in computer science, programming, and or information technology from an accredited institution.
Desirable: Studies in public health and/or health-related field.
Professional Experience and knowledge
Essential:
– At least 3 years of experience in the design, implementation, and management of DHIS2 applications
– At least 5 years of experience in the implementation and management of National Health Information Systems (NHIS).
Language Skills
Excellent knowledge of English and local language.
Other Skills (e.g. IT)
Proficiency in MS Office.

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary (Net of Tax) starting at JOD 38,969
