JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Section Head, Programme and Strategy Coordination Section (PSCS), Office of Safety and Security Coordination (NSOC), and in coordination with relevant staff in the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security, the Consultant will provide support for the IAEA’s implementation of activities for the International Conference on Effective Nuclear and Radiation Regulatory Systems (RegCon26). The Consultant will support the arrangement of preparatory meetings, development of the scientific programme, review of abstracts and promotion for the Conference and is to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality conference meeting the needs of attendees and stakeholders.

Functions / Key Results Expected

• Provide and collate technical input for the creation of a detailed agendas for all preparatory meetings.
• Document preparatory meeting outcomes and action items, ensuring follow-up and accountability among team members.
• Collate contributions from stakeholders to develop the Conference announcement and final programme.
• Provide technical input in the development of impactful messages and communication products and materials tailored for the Conference.
• Manage the submission process via IAEA’s INDICO system, ensuring efficient tracking and handling of all submissions.
• Compile, analyse, and report on data related to submissions, including submission rates, acceptance rates, and author demographics for reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Engineering, science, business administration, political science, international relations, law, public administration or related field.
  • Certification in Project Management is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven project management experience.
  • Proven experience working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
  • Proven experience in implementing large events at the international level.
  • Familiarity with the IAEA’s INDICO system, is an asset.
  • Excellent ability to communicate in English (written, spoken, and oral comprehension)
