Under the overall supervision of the Field Coordinator, and direct supervision of Senior Programme Associate in Rzeszow and under the technical supervision of the MHPSS Coordinator in Warsaw the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for implementation of MHPSS activities.
- Monitor, support and supervise daily activities of the MHPSS Unit in Podkarpackie.
- Identify operational challenges and provide technical guidance and solutions to MHPSS staff.
- Ensure coordination with IOM teams and IOM partners.
- Assist in the planning, coordination, implementation and monitoring of program activities.
- Perform regular operational and financial monitoring and ensure timely reporting related to all MHPSS activities in the region
- Provide psychosocial support to the vulnerable population.
- Map existing provisions in both the national system and the humanitarian system that are available and accessible to the residents of the sites.
- Coordinate with relevant authorities and civil society organizations and refer cases for further support.
- Follow up in a case-management fashion, on the referral of the identified individuals.
- Conduct regular needs assessments.
- Compile, summarize, analyse, and present information/data on provision of psychological and psychosocial assistance, highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties.
- Assist in coordinating the provision of care to all refugees and migrants in line with IOM standards.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities, partners, United Nation agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Prepare documentation; leaflets and outreach information materials.
- Provide inputs for the development of concept papers and provide general support for the development of new projects.
- Undertake duty travel as required, including as part of emergency field deployments.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
- Master’s degree in psychology or social science or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
- Experience in working in a humanitarian setting in a similar role;
- Experience in provision of MHPSS assistance.
Skills
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization; and,
- Capacity to develop and supervise quality control/assurance mechanisms in MHPSS activities;
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility;
- Good level of computer literacy;
- Awareness on migration and refugee issues;
- Ability to work under difficult conditions;
- Experience working in a multi-cultural environment is preferred;
- Strong work ethics and commitment to humanitarian principles;
Languages
- Fluency in Polish and English
- Russian or Ukrainian is desirable
