About this position

You will work in the Administrative Services Division (ACP), which provides workplace solutions to IDB Group and its employees. Collectively the work of the Division focuses on developing and providing creative, adaptive, practical, and sustainable workplace solutions for our employees so they can concentrate on the organization’s mission of improving lives.

The Division has four Groups: (a) Corporate Real Estate Group manages the IDB Group’s facilities in downtown Washington, D.C., a Records Center facility in Ashburn, Virginia, U.S., 26 Country Offices in Latin America and the Caribbean, two offices in Europe, and one in Asia. In addition, it oversees the corporate sustainability program. (b) The Records Management Group oversees compliance with the records management policy, including the management of physical and digital records and preserving the IDB Group’s history. (c) The Travel, Security, and General Services Group manages the corporate security program, oversees organizational resilience, and manages service providers for travel, food, and custodial services. (d) The Portfolio Monitoring and Analytics Group monitors and reports on the facilities capital projects portfolio, manages the project management system, plans and monitors both the administrative budget for the provision of workplace solutions and the real estate capital budget and leads and coordinates departmental initiatives under the Bank’s Digital Transformation Program.

ACP is looking for an experienced, innovative, client-focused, and collaborative consultant to work on workplace solution projects. Throughout their work, this professional should maintain a strong focus on customer experience and elevate the visibility of ACP in establishing strong partnership with clients throughout the IDB Group. This position reports to the Division Chief of ACP and coordinates regularly with the four Group Heads and their teams.

What you’ll do

  • Perform complex research analysis and advisory activities in various workplace solution initiatives.
  • Support the analysis and enhancement of the IDB Group’s corporate real estate approach considering new hybrid modalities in alignment with the Institutional, the Human Resources, and the Digital Transformation Strategies.
  • Develop arguments for reengineering and digitizing business processes to increase efficiencies, including cost/benefit analyses. Identify, evaluate, and advise on relevant industry best practices that can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of ACP solutions.
  • Provide feedback and guidance, collaborate across ACP, and work closely business partners, such as Technology and Transformation, Corporate Procurement, Legal, Human Resources, and Data Privacy. Identify opportunities to improve tools, methodologies, and processes in technical areas.

What you’ll need

  • Education: Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business Administration, Information Management, Real Estate, or related fields.
  • Experience: At least 10 years of relevant professional practical experience: Leading/coordinating complex projects in international organizations.

Managing projects and leading change management is a plus.

Preparing and delivering various types of communications and presentations is required.

Dealing with complex and sensitive issues with tact, discretion, and diplomacy across all levels of the organization using extensive customer-centric approaches.

Collaborating effectively with. clients and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds and workstyles.

  • Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is a plus.

Requirements

  • Citizenship [1]: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.
  • Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
  • Remote Modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bank’s office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bank’s Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bank’s office. Access to the Bank’s systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.
